DON'T FORGET THIS SUNDAY, COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!!
Kyle Walter is the littlest member of the Bowie Bulldogs Varsity Team through a program called CC4C.
Every year CC4C picks 10 children with rare or undiagnosed disorders to be part of the program. We are honored that Kyle was chosen as a Champion child for CC4C.
He is so excited to be part of the team and talks about “his boys” and “his team" every day.
Here is a brief description of what CC4C does for the parents who are unfamiliar with the program.
- Each child is placed on a high school “Dream Team.” The team dedicates their season to bringing joy and inspiration to the child. The team makes their child an honorary teammate for the school year, providing unique opportunities for the child to feel a part of a team. In turn, the program inspires the student-athletes to be role models to younger children, and to live and train with care and concern for others.
- Each CC4C family has the opportunity to participate in our new Mental Health and Wellness Program. The Mental Health and Wellness program was created in efforts to support the CC4C children and their entire family.
- Each CC4C Family has funding available to them through the Financial Assistance Program. This program helps pay for medical expenses insurances deny.
- CC4C hosts inspirational events for families to create lifetime memories and unforgettable family bonding. We organize campaigns and fundraisers to provide families a community of support through our CC4C programs while building courage, confidence and strength in our CC4C children.
Sunday, September 22nd, from 9:00am to 12:30pm
Run to Uplift
(This is a message from Kyle's mom Tarah)
If you haven't ever been to this event, you are missing out. The run is a 2.62 mile course around the Hill Country Galleria. Check in begins at 8:00am on the day of the race or you may pick up your packet the day before from 9am to noon at the Hill Country Galleria between Learning Express and Panera Bread.
I was in awe the first time I went to a Run to Uplift. There really are no words to explain how inspiring it is. It is amazing to see so many teens from high schools all over the area come together and cheer on their champions (very loudly!).
During the run, some of the football players will be running with Kyle and the rest will be at his team station along the track. They will cheer on the kids as they come by and hand out Kyle’s team bracelets. During the awards ceremony the teams compete against each other, cheering on their champions with chants, yells, posters, noise makers, and one year even drums. It is so fun to see.
We would love for you to join our team and run or walk with us. If you cannot attend please consider making a donation to our team. The funds help CC4C to help children with rare and undiagnosed disorders get the medical help they need that insurance denies, provides a community of emotional support and makes the rare world we live in a little less lonely.
There is also a brief story about Kyle on his donation page.
Thank you everyone!!
